So… I finally made a website…

I bit the bullet.

If you’re reading this, it means I finally made the plunge into creating my art website. Talk about things I never thought I’d say!
With the help of a friend’s daughter in law, we’re finally up and running. But in the day and age of tiktok and instagram you might be wondering… why a website? why now?
I asked the exact same question.

The practical reason behind it is that for a lot of galleries and exhibitions, the applications require a website. But the thought of just throwing something up online simply to check a box felt… kind of, I don’t know, sad?
I spent a lot of time on my art, and thinking of it sitting in this space without any real intention behind it wasn’t true to me or to my art. I make art for homes, not for empty white pages of binary code. So my goal is to make this website as much of a home as I can.

Now, I don’t know about you, but I love learning about the “who” behind the artist. Whenever I find a new artist on instagram I love clicking the link to their website to try and learn more about them. Where are they from? What does their earlier work look like? Who are they? So on top of it all, I thought, well, maybe there are more people like me out there! There are 8 billion of us on earth, so mathematically there’s simply got to be.
So here I am! Giving more context to my art than anyone ever asked for. Giving my website a homey feel like a late 1990s sit com.

So welcome! Thank you for poking around until you found this blog post. I am so happy to have you and I hope you stick around!
